Project Overview

TRIGGER develops integrated climate services that support the prevention and mitigation of climate-induced health threats. The project combines Earth observation, numerical weather prediction, climate modelling, environmental exposure assessment, epidemiological analyses and health data to investigate the impacts of heat, cold, air pollution and compound environmental hazards on human health. Through Climate–Health Connection (CHC) Labs established across Europe, TRIGGER develops harmonised climate-health indicators, forecasting systems and operational climate services that support research, public-health preparedness and evidence-based adaptation strategies. The project also promotes interoperability, FAIR data principles and sustainable climate-health infrastructures capable of supporting future operational services and policy development.
